Books - Creating Collections of Your Recipes, Crafts and Other Items

The website provides the ability for users to group their content together in what is called a Book. A Book is a main page that other pages reference. When the Book link is clicked, the main page content is show along with links to the pages contained within the book.

A Book can contain Pages, Recipes, and Story content. To create a Book, click on the Create Content->Book page. You will see a web form similar to the ones you use to create things like blog entries or pages. You will also see an additional field, the Parent: field. For your first book page, leave it set to <root page>. This page now becomes the entry page for your book. You can create a second page by going to Create Content->Book Page again. At this time, select your book name from the list in the  Parent: field. You can also include your content in other users books if you so desire.

For other content like Recipes, you can add the recipe to a book after you've entered the recipe. When you are logged in and select your recipe you should see three tabs at the top, view, edit and outline. By selecting the Outline tab you will now have access to the Parent: field.  Select the book you want the recipe to be associated with.

If you'd like to create sections in your book, use the Create Content->Book page to create a new book page and title it for your section. For example, for a recipe book you might create a Book page titled Desserts. Once you have saved the page you can now find your recipe and select the Desserts page as the parent. When your main Book page is displayed a link to the Desserts page will be displayed and when the Desserts page is clicked the list of Desserts will be displayed.

I hope this information helps you out in collecting your recipes and ideas together and feel free to add in Books for other users to share. Perhaps at some point there may be a featuer available to allow creating a printable version of the books that have been created.
